Acomplia (rimonabant) can be prescribed if you have obesity – a dangerous condition that can lead to the development of many other health problems in the long term and therefore must be treated. This drug works by affecting certain areas of your brain responsible for food cravings and metabolism and switching them off, reducing your food cravings therefore. This means you need to take Acomplia regularly to benefit from the treatment as much as possible. If you happened to miss a dose – take Acomplia as soon as you remembered. However, if it's almost time to take another dose – make sure you skip the one you missed. Taking a double dose is not going to make your treatment more efficient and can cause an overdose, the following symptoms of an overdose are possible: headache, euphoria, insomnia, and fatigue. Make sure you seek emergency medical help if you happened to take too much of Acomplia by accident or intentionally. Let your doctor know if you are going to take any other medications along with Acomplia – such as itraconazole, ritonavir, nefazodone, ketaconazole, phenobarbital, carbamazeptine, telithromycin, clarithromycin, or phenytoin, as the drugs mentioned have been reported to cause interactions.
